PHONETICS 2

First , let's have a look at some sounds which may vary in pronunciation in Spanish but they won't cause any problem in case you mispronouce them regarding a perfect British pronunciation

These sounds are :
the only difference with our language is that it may appear with double mm, at the end of the word (mum) or with -mb at the end , in which case it is only pronounced as m (climb) /klaɪm/
the only difference with our language is that it may appear with double mm, at the end of the word

the pronunciation it is as in Spanish but you can find it with spellings like "c" in the word: "city"

this sound is the"s" but "sonora " that means, (nuestras cuerdas vocales tienen que vibrar al hacerla). Good news, if we do not make it perfect, it does not cause problems in understanding. Very difficult for Spanish people!!

Here you have a video to understand the differecte between these two last sounds:

OK , LET'S START WITH THOSE SOUNDS YOU REALLY HAVE TO DO WELL.

Regarding /m/ and /n/ there is a third nasal sound which we do not have in Spanish:

If you pronunce "canguro" and stop in the "n" when saying it , and now you pronounce "nose" and stop in the "n",can you see the difference!!
It is very important because it is the pronunciation of the ending -ing, NEVER MAKE A -G SOUND AT THE END. Look at the video:

Look at the spelling, very easy = it is always the end and in combination: "n+g" or "n+k"

These sound is mainly the sound of "sh "  and the syllable "-tion" in English, look at the way you have to pronounce it.

This is the way you find it in writing: Click HERE . Pay attention to words like "sugar", you are probably surprised, aren't you?

Sound symbol not very common, it comes from French... not very used so good news. But it is the pronunciation of the syllable -sion, which it is quite common, though
